Work is progressing northward along Peter Schickel Way, where crews are installing a new 12-inch water main that will enhance reliability and service for our customers. A READI Grant through Indiana First and the Harrison County Economic Development Corporation is supporting the installation of 8,500 feet of 12-inch water main. This upgrade will improve the water service in the area today and prepare our system for future development.
With 2,500 feet of pipe in the ground, the project is now more than one-quarter complete. Difficult connections of previously bored sections have been made and backfilled, and major obstacles such as the railroad crossing and established driveways are now behind us. With those challenges completed, the pace of installation will increase in the coming weeks, keeping the project on track for timely completion.
We thank you for your patience while this important work takes place.
